Company News : SPI Achieve Full Accreditation

SPI have always endeavoured to uphold the highest standards in Health, Safety and Quality. Furthermore, in light of the recent focus on the reduction of environmental impacts of various industries around the world, we take our Environmental resposibilities very seriously.

To enhance our already high standards in 2008 we embarked on the process of accreditation of our Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems.

The Directors are pleased to announce that on the 3rd March 2009 we achieved ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation.

Company News : Sheffield Steel Mill Contract Starts

Steel Pile Installations were employed in August 2008 by SP Fields to design, install and extract a 'T' shaped cofferdam, along with associated welded steel framing, to allow excavation, up to 9.5 metres deep below the existing floor level within Sheffield Forgemasters to accomodate a new 'Press Base' within the existing foundry in Brightside, Sheffield.

Company News : Cottam Power Station Drain Improvements

On the 28th July 2008 SPI were contracted by G F Tomlinson & Sons Ltd, who were in turn working on behalf of EDF Energy, to supply and install steel sheet piles along the Seymour drainage channel at Cottam Power Station near Retford.

Company News : Ashton-under-Lyne Nearing Completion

 In July 2007 SPI commenced work on behalf of KMI Plus, who are in turn contracted by United Utilities, on the Ashton-under-Lyne Waste Water Treatment Works Project. The overall aim of the project is to upgrade and expand the existing sewage works to increase its operational capacity, this includes the construction of two new pumping stations at the site.

Company News : River Kelvin Quay Gets a Facelift

Since May 2008 we have been working on behalf or Farrans (Construction) Ltd, who are in turn contracted by Glasgow Harbour, on the refurbishment and replacement of the River Kelvin Quay Wall in central Glasgow.
